Basketball Recap: Bishop Timon-St. Jude Comes Up Short

Bishop Timon-St. Jude was the 81-59 winner over St. Francis when they last played one another back in February, but their luck changed this time around. The Tigers took a 60-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Red Raiders on Tuesday. The game marked the Tigers' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Despite the loss, Bishop Timon-St. Jude still got an impressive performance from Jeson Huff, who posted 22 points and six rebounds. Huff has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Joey Insera, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 11 boards.

St. Francis was led to victory by Andrew Lindstrom and Tim Coughlin. Lindstrom went 7-for-16 to rack up 19 points, while Coughlin put up 12 points. What's more, Coughlin also posted an 80% field goal percentage, which is the highest he's achieved since back in December of 2024. Dominic Insera was another key player, putting up three points and six rebounds.

This is the second loss in a row for Bishop Timon-St. Jude and nudges their season record down to 2-4. As for St. Francis, they now have a winning record of 3-2.

Bishop Timon-St. Jude wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, an 83-46 victory against Lackawanna on the 22nd. As for St. Francis, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 70-58 win against Frontier on the 20th.
