Eastwood is 9-1 against El Dorado since January of 2018, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. The Eastwood Troopers will be playing in front of their home fans against the El Dorado Aztecs at 6:00 p.m. Eastwood will be looking to keep their 14-game home win streak (dating back to last season) alive.
Last Friday, Eastwood earned a 47-34 victory over Alamogordo. 47 seems to be a good number for Eastwood as the squad scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Eastwood to victory, but perhaps none more so than Edward Avila, who scored 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Julien Falk-ramirez, who scored seven points along with two steals.
Meanwhile, El Dorado's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They took a 56-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Pebble Hills. While losing is never fun, El Dorado can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 971st, while Pebble Hills is ranked 312th).
Eastwood has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-9 record this season. As for El Dorado, their loss dropped their record down to 6-15.
Everything went Eastwood's way against El Dorado when the teams last played back in November of 2023 as Eastwood made off with a 54-34 win. With Eastwood ahead 34-11 at the half, the match was all but over already.
