Wise is 10-0 against the Rams since February of 2015, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Tuesday. Having just played yesterday, the Wise Pumas will get right back to it and host the Suitland Rams at 7:15 p.m. on February 6th. One thing working in Wise's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 13 games.
Wise put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Monday. They blew past Potomac 75-51. Given Wise's advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 48th, while the Wolverines are ranked 201st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
It was another big night for Marcus Rustin, who scored 17 points along with seven assists and four steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Alexis Obase, who scored 13 points along with seven rebounds.
Meanwhile, Suitland's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 89-48 to Flowers, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Suitland has not had much luck with the Jaguars recently, as the team's come up short the last two times they've met.
Wise has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 13-3 record this season. As for Suitland, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
Everything came up roses for Wise against the Rams in their previous matchup back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 71-43 victory. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Suitland's Devonte Mobley, who scored 22 points. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Wise still be able to contain Mobley? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
