The Bovina Mustangs will be home for the holidays to greet the Claude Mustangs at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Bovina is out to stop a five-game streak of losses at home dating back to last season.
Bovina's game on Tuesday was all tied up 27-27 at the half, but sadly for them it didn't stay that way. They fell 56-48 to Muleshoe. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Bovina in their matchups with Muleshoe: they've now lost four in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Miguel Lopez, who scored 14 points. He scored a full 29.2% of Bovina's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Gabriel Nieto was another key contributor, scoring eight points.
Meanwhile, Claude scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They blew past Accelerate Christian, posting a 57-30 victory at home. For those curious, yes, that was the biggest victory Claude has managed all season.
Bovina's loss dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Claude, the victory makes it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-6.
Bovina strolled past Claude in their previous meeting back in December of 2022 by a score of 73-54. Will Bovina repeat their success, or does Claude have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
