On Friday Gateway Tech take on Carnahan at 5:00 PM. Gateway Tech don't have the home-field advantage, but they do enjoy an advantage in the MaxPreps rankings.
Gateway Tech took an ego-bruising loss against Roosevelt/Cleveland NJROTC two weeks ago, but they kept their chin up and bounced back last Saturday. Gateway Tech captured a comfortable 34-18 win over Sumner/Northwest Academy of Law.
Meanwhile, Carnahan have to be hurting after a devastating 14-42 defeat at the hands of Soldan International Studies last Saturday. The state rankings had actually given Carnahan a slight edge heading into the game, making this hurt that much more.
Gateway Tech's victory lifted them to 2-5 while Carnahan's loss dropped them down to 0-8. We'll see if Gateway Tech's success rolls on or if Carnahan are able to steal their positive momentum.
