Mason Pozo looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has become a key player for Riverside: the team is 11-1 when he allows at most three earned runs, but 6-7 otherwise.
At the plate, Ethan Baker was incredible, firing off two home runs, six RBI, and three runs while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. That's the most runs he has posted since back in April. The team also got some help courtesy of Mo Dolce, who got on base in four of his five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Riverside always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .651. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Kirtland only posted an OBP of .211.
Meanwhile, it was close, but on Tuesday Walsh Jesuit sidestepped Medina for a 3-2 victory. The win continues a trend for the Warriors in their matchups with the Battling Bees: they've now won three in a row.
Anthony Alberty looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one hit any time he's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Matthew Mansbery, who went 2-for-3 with two runs and one triple. That triple was his first of the season.
Riverside pushed their record up to 17-8 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 14.0 runs over those games. As for Walsh Jesuit, their victory bumped their record up to 12-6-1.
Walsh Jesuit's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Riverside hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .343. It's a different story for Walsh Jesuit, though, as they've only averaged .249. Will they be able to contain Riverside's hitters?
