Football Recap: Forest Wins Going Away Against Raymond

The Forest Bearcats made easy work of the Raymond Rangers on Friday and carried off a 28-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Bearcats, who have now won four matchups by 22 points or more so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Raymond lost, don't look at Cj Martin. Despite the final result, he rushed for 164 yards and one touchdown while picking up 9.1 yards per carry. Martin showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 64 yards.

Forest is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 28.8 points over those games. As for Raymond, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-6.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Forest is set to square off against their familiar foe Richland at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Raymond will face off against rival Morton at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
