The Greenfield Knights will hit the road for the first time this season to take on the Faith Christian Patriots at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. Faith Christian took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Greenfield, who comes in off a win.
Greenfield barely beat North East Carolina Prep the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. Greenfield's pitchers stepped up to hand North East Carolina Prep a 20-0 shutout on Tuesday.
Clark Johnson made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four). He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing Two bases. while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances.

In other batting news, Greenfield got a massive performance out of Simon Quinn, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, three runs, and four RBI. The dominant performance gave Quinn a new career-high in runs. Christopher Tankersley was another key player, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-3.
Greenfield always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .718. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North East Carolina Prep only posted an OBP of .176.
Meanwhile, Faith Christian came up short against SouthWest Edgecombe on Monday and fell 12-9.
Dylan Morgan made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles.
Greenfield now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Faith Christian, they now have a losing record of 1-2.
Faith Christian's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Greenfield hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .355. It's a different story for Faith Christian, though, as they've only averaged .216. Will they be able to contain Greenfield's hitters?
Greenfield came out on top in a nail-biter against Faith Christian in their previous meeting back in March of 2024, sneaking past 4-2. Will Greenfield repeat their success, or does Faith Christian have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
