Floyd Central took a 43-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of Columbus East. Floyd Central has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Columbus East to victory, but perhaps none more so than Messiah Trapp, who scored 13 points along with 8 rebounds and 4 steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Trapp has scored at least 25% of Columbus East's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madelyn Poe, who scored 12 points along with 6 rebounds.
The last time Floyd Central won on the road was back back in November. Having now lost three straight away matchups, they've bumped their record down to 4-4. As for Columbus East, their win bumped their record up to 4-8.
Floyd Central will head out on the road to face off against Silver Creek at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Silver Creek presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Floyd Central in Indiana (Silver Creek is ranked 15th, while Floyd Central is ranked 122nd). As for Columbus East, they will look to defend their home court on Saturday against Jeffersonville at 1:30 p.m.
