It was a good run, but The Rouse Raiders unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 27-19 hit to the loss column at the hands of University. Rouse lost against University in their previous head to head back in October of 2022, too, but the margin this time around was much wider than the 21-16 score last time.
London Morgan threw for 138 yards on 14 of 23 attempts. Noah Fabila was his top target, picking up 69 receiving yards and no touchdowns. On the ground, Justin Cannon rushed for 88 yards and two touchdowns.
University's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Cade Bynnom led the charge by throwing for 201 yards and two touchdowns, while also punching in a touchdown on the ground. LaDarrius Evans was another key contributor, rushing for 122 yards and a touchdown.
Rouse's loss dropped their record down to 6-2. As for University, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season.
Rouse will head out on the road to face off against Pflugerville at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Pflugerville will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 765th, while Rouse is ranked 254th). As for University, they will look to defend their home field on Friday against Pflugerville Connally at 7:00 p.m. Pflugerville Connally is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
