Softball Recap: Reese Has No Trouble Against Merrill

It's playoff time, and Reese had no trouble coming through when it counted. They were the clear victors by a 10-3 margin over the Merrill Vandals on Saturday. The result was nothing new for the Rockets, who have now won 12 matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Jaidyn VanOchten was incredible, going 2-for-5 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. That's the most RBI she has posted since back in April. Sydney DuRussel was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.

Reese hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their strikeout total in three consecutive games.

Reese's record is now 20-15. As for Merrill, they dropped their record down to 13-16 with the defeat, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Reese didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, an 8-0 loss against Michigan Lutheran Seminary on the 31st. Merrill does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
