Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but unfortunately for the West Shore Wildcats, they weren't the ones who walked away with it. They fell to the Minutemen 45-39. West Shore has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Cocoa Beach's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sophie Brownfield, who scored 12 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Brownfield has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Aariyah Robinson, who scored nine points.
West Shore has traveled a rocky road recently having lost ten of their last 12 contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 7-15 record this season. As for Cocoa Beach, they now have a winning record of 13-12.
West Shore does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cocoa Beach will be staying on the road on Wednesday to face off against Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy at 7:00 p.m. on February 7th. Cocoa Beach will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 406th, while Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy is ranked 128th).
