Basketball Recap: Berkley Drops Season-High Score on Oakside Prep Academy

Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Berkley). They blew past Oakside Prep Academy 72-50 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest win the Bears have posted since December 6, 2024.

Berkley's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Evan Haenick, who posted 13 points in addition to five assists and four steals. Haenick is becoming a predictor of Berkley's success: when he posts at least three steals the team is 2-1 (and 2-13 when he doesn't). Another player making a difference was Jacob Friedman, who made all 5 shots he took for 13 points and four blocks.

Haenick wasn't the only one working in the assist department: Berkley was working as a unit and finished the game with 17 assists. That's the most assists they've posted since back in December of 2024.

Berkley's record now sits at 4-14. As for Oakside Prep Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Berkley didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 48-22 defeat against Rochester on the 14th. Oakside Prep Academy has also already played their next contest (against Pontiac Academy for Excellence), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
