AAAAAA Region 7 recap Oct. 3, 2012
Norcross extended the longest winning streak in AAAAAA Region 7 this week by beating Mill Creek, 49-41. The win marks fifth in a row for the the Blue Devils.
Thad Bell and Tyler Campbell gave Duluth a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Bell threw for 14 yards and seven touchdowns, while Campbell ran for 195 yards. Jordan Dooley also contributed to the rushing game with 41 yards on the ground.
Myles Autry was the best wideout in the league this week as Norcross defeated the Hawks. Autry racked up five receptions for 88 yards. Clinton Lynch helped Norcross' passing attack out by catching three balls for 82 yards.
Clay Fortin made the biggest impact on defense this week as Peachtree Ridge beat Habersham Central. The 6-foot-1 senior racked up 1.5 sacks.
Daniel David provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Mill Creek fell to the Blue Devils. He completed 17 passes for 258 yards and two touchdowns and also ran for 46 yards. Daniel David's favorite target this week was DeVozea Felton, who caught four passes for 67 yards.
Norcross' Joseph Wilber and Lynch have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Wilber has thrown for 918 yards this season, while Lynch has 18 catches for 379 yards. Jacorey Lewis from Shannon Jarvis's team leads the league in rushing with 664 yards.
A big matchup in AAAAAA Region 7 this week will be when the Lions take on Collins Hill. Peachtree Ridge is in fifth place, while the Screaming Eagles are in third place.
The Wildcats led the league in scoring this week after putting up 52 points on Meadowcreek. Bell in the win.
