Westtown will head out to square off against the Friends Select Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Westtown's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last three contests.
Westtown came out on top against Delaware County Christian on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive five-run seventh inning. Westtown never let Delaware County Christian get on the board and left with a 10-0 win. Considering Westtown has won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
The result came thanks to Coop Speacht's shutout, as he gave up just three hits and racked up ten Ks.
At the plate, Westtown got a massive performance out of James Kelleher, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Trey Koplinka also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Meanwhile, Friends Select came into Friday's matchup having lost eight straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Academy of the New Church on Friday, sneaking past 7-6. The Falcons' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
David Ryan was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He tossed 2.2 innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Ryan was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with three RBI and one run.
In other batting news, Miles Lesser was incredible, going 3-for-5 with four runs, one triple, and one stolen base. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jules Parisi, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.
Friends Select was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .387. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
The victory was their first at home, bumping their record up to 2-8. As for Westtown, their record now sits at 18-4.
