The Leroy Bears had to kick off their season on the road on Tuesday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed by Millry on the road to the tune of 87-8. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 44-5.
Chauncey Dixon was a one-man wrecking crew for Leroy as she scored 30 points along with 9 rebounds and 7 steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Makayla Payne, who scored 20 points.
Leroy's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for Millry, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-1.
Leroy will head out on the road to face off against Washington County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Washington County is coming into the match hot, having won their last three games. As for Millry, they will look to defend their home court on Monday against Thomasville at 6:00 p.m.
