It was a good run, but Goreville unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-match winning streak on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Trico Pioneers by a score of 2-1. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Pioneers this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 2-1 back in September.

In an exciting match in which no team claimed back-to-back wins, Goreville sadly wound up on the wrong side. The match finished with set scores of 25-20, 20-25, 25-23.

Goreville's loss dropped their record down to 22-10. As for Trico, they are on a roll lately: they've won 17 of their last 18 matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 27-6 record this season.

Goreville has already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Zeigler-Royalton on the 22nd. As for Trico, they will be playing at home against Vienna at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
