In what's become a running theme this season, the Salpointe Catholic Lancers gave their fans yet another huge win on Tuesday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 68-37 victory over Sahuaro. The victory was familiar territory for Salpointe Catholic who now have four in a row.
Salpointe Catholic got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Taliyah Henderson out in front who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 rebounds. Allison Even was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with five rebounds and four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Sahuaro lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kristen Valdez. Despite the final result, she scored 11 points along with seven rebounds.
Salpointe Catholic has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won eight of their last nine contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-3 record this season. As for Sahuaro, they bumped their record down to 16-7 with that loss, which was their third straight on the road.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Salpointe Catholic will square off against Cienega at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Hopefully Cienega focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Thursday. As for Sahuaro, they will head out on the road to take on Pueblo at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
