The River Ridge Royal Knights won the last time they faced the Gulf Buccaneers, and things went their way on Friday too. River Ridge escaped with a win against Gulf by the margin of a single free throw, 47-46.
River Ridge got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Dareal KING out in front who scored 15 points along with six rebounds and four blocks. As a matter of fact, that's the most points KING has scored all season. Another player making a difference was JONATHAN CASAREZ, who scored ten points along with two steals.
Gulf's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaydn Wood, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. Aiden Holewski was another key contributor, scoring six points along with five steals.
Gulf struggled to work together and finished the game with only an assist. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
River Ridge's win bumped their record up to 4-12. As for Gulf, their loss dropped their record down to 6-13.
River Ridge will play host again and welcome Fivay, where tip off is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Gulf, they will head out on the road to challenge Hudson at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
