Creekview is on a six-game streak of home losses, Turner a six-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. The Creekview Mustangs will take on the Turner Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.
On Friday, Creekview was the victim of a rough 70-50 defeat at the hands of Lone Star. Creekview has not had much luck with Lone Star recently, as the team's come up short the last five times they've met.
Meanwhile, Turner pushed their score all the way to 55 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. Their tough 76-55 loss to The Colony might stick with them for a while. While losing is never fun, Turner can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 689th, while The Colony is ranked 38th).
Despite the loss, Turner had strong showings from Rodney Gray, who scored 25 points along with six rebounds and five steals, and Matthew Stone, who scored 18 points along with five rebounds. Gray hasn't dropped below two steals for five straight games.
Creekview has not been sharp recently as the team has lost nine of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 11-17 record this season. As for Turner, their defeat dropped their record down to 15-15.
Creekview strolled past Turner in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 69-52. One of the biggest obstacles the team faced in that game was Gray, who scored 29 points along with two steals. Now that he's got a second chance to win this matchup, will Creekview still be able to contain Gray? Check MaxPreps.com after the match to find out.
