Despite the loss, Chestnut Ridge still got an impressive performance from Carter Wharton, who rushed for 151 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.9 yards per carry. The Lions also got a significant boost from Jayden Imler, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 84 yards.
This one was won in the trenches and the lion's share of the credit has to go to Jaishawn George and Jerome Ross III. George rushed for 81 yards and one TD on only eight carries while Ross III rushed for 20 yards and one touchdown.
Chestnut Ridge now has a losing record of 6-7. As for Steelton-Highspire, their win was their 12th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 10-2.
