While Boylan Catholic didn't have the best season last year (they finished 6-27), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. It was close, but on Fridaythey capped 2025 with a 50-47 victory over the Jacobs Golden Eagles. The 50-point effort marked the Titans' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Jacobs' loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Elijah Bell, who posted 21 points in addition to eight boards and three steals, and Jack Magee, who went 5-for-12 en route to 15 points. Another player making a difference was Samson Averehi, who had five points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Boylan Catholic's win bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Jacobs, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-5 record this season.

Boylan Catholic has already played their next matchup, a 74-68 victory against North Chicago on the 3rd. As for Jacobs, they will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on McHenry at 7:00 p.m. on January 7th. The Golden Eagles will need to watch out since the Warriors have now posted at least 55 points in their last three contests.
