Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Freeburg). They took their contest on Friday with ease, bagging a 63-0 win over the East Alton-Wood River Oilers. The victory continues a trend for the Midgets in their matchups with the Oilers: they've now won three in a row.

Freeburg found their leader in sophomore Cooper Kisgen, who rushed for 84 yards and three TDs on only five carries. Brady Kerr also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Freeburg proved: they limited East Alton-Wood River to a paltry 1.6 yards per carry. The team can thank Kisgen for the heroic effort on defense: he. Freeburg didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 16.1.

Special teams was a major factor in the game for Freeburg, racking up 13 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Kerr, who ran a punt back for a touchdown.

Freeburg's record now sits at 6-1. As for East Alton-Wood River, they dropped their record down to 0-7 with the loss, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
