Leading Monte Vista to victory were Alex Marquez and Azariah Hurtado. Marquez scored 20 points, while Hurtado scored 16 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. The matchup was Marquez's sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alex Gonzales, who scored five points.
Monte Vista is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season. As for Ignacio, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.
Monte Vista will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Sanford at 12:00 p.m. on January 20th.
