The Hartsville Red Foxes's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fifth straight loss. They fell just short of West Florence by a score of 46-44. Hartsville was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Knights apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in January.
Hartsville lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Mccoy Harry, who scored nine points along with two blocks. The team also got some help courtesy of Tyriq Fisher, who scored eight points along with five rebounds.
Hartsville has traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-17 record this season. As for West Florence, their victory bumped their record up to 7-16.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Hartsville will challenge the Tigers at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Wilson's favor as the team sits on five straight wins at home while the Red Foxes have been banged up by six consecutive losses on the road. As for West Florence, they will square off against the Bruins at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. South Florence knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past eight contests -- so hopefully the Knights like a good challenge.
