The Fort Edward Flying Forts will head out on the road to face off against the Warrensburg Burgers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, Fort Edward sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 40-38 victory over Hartford Central.
Even though Warrensburg has not done well against Hadley Luzerne recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Warrensburg blew past Hadley Luzerne 67-27 at home. The matchup was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 31-10.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Warrensburg to victory, but perhaps none more so than Steve Schloss, who scored 25 points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Another player making a difference was Brady Cheney, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 16 rebounds.
The victory got Fort Edward back to even at 2-2. As for Warrensburg, they pushed their record up to 4-2 with that victory, which was their seventh straight at home dating back to last season.
Fort Edward ended up a good deal behind Warrensburg in their previous matchup back in January, losing 58-39. Can Fort Edward avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
