Despite the loss, Belfry saw an underclassman step up: Carter Jude scored ten points. Another player making a difference was David Michael Hagy, who scored two points along with seven rebounds.
Belfry struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Belfry has traveled a rocky road recently having lost nine of their last ten contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-16 record this season. As for Pike County Central, the victory (which was their sixth in a row) raised their record to 12-7.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Belfry will square off against Phelps at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Phelps' favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last seven games. As for Pike County Central, they will head out on the road to challenge East Ridge at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
