Softball Recap: Dougherty Valley Has No Trouble Against Amador Valley

Dougherty Valley's game on Tuesday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They were the clear victors by an 18-8 margin over the Amador Valley Dons. Considering the Wildcats have won five contests by more than eight runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Dougherty Valley got a massive performance out of Marissa Lee, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three runs and two RBI. Those two RBI gave Lee a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Marisa Rhee, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and two runs.

Dougherty Valley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Dougherty Valley's record now sits at 9-6. As for Amador Valley, their loss dropped their record down to 9-11.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dougherty Valley will square off against Castro Valley at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. The Trojans will roll in looking for their sixth straight win, something the Wildcats surely won't give up without a fight. As for Amador Valley, they will face off against Carondelet at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
