The Life Prep Fire are ranked highly in their home state, and on Saturday they took on another highly ranked team in the form of the D DME Academy. Life Prep received a tough blow as they fell 72-54 to D.
D's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ines Goryanova, who scored 15 points along with nine assists and six rebounds. The contest was Goryanova's third in a row with at least ten points. Asya lara Barnes was another key contributor, going 6 for 11 from beyond the arc en route to 20 points and 2 assists.
Life Prep's loss dropped their record down to 4-2. As for D, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 13-0.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Life Prep is on the road again on January 5, 2024 and play against Independent at 6:00 p.m. on January 5, 2024. Independent's defense has only allowed 23.2 points per game this season, so Life Prep's offense will have their work cut out for Life Prep. D and TPLS Christian Academy will face off on January 4, 2024 without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
