St. David is a perfect 10-0 against Duncan since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Monday. The Tigers will square off against the Wildkats at 3:45 p.m. St. David will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak.
St. David's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Friday. Everything went their way against Patagonia as they made off with a 12-0 victory.
Grant Haymore made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with four RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Chase Pacheco was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with three runs and one RBI. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Luke Gorman also deserves some recognition as he got his first hit of the season.
St. David was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .545. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive games.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Duncan's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell just short of Baboquivari by a score of 10-9. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last five times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.
Dayton Penry made the most of his time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Nandino, who went 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
St. David's record now sits at 10-8-1. As for Duncan, their loss dropped their record down to 13-5.
Monday's matchup might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. St. David has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .445. However, it's not like Duncan struggles in that department as they've averaged .529. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went St. David's way against Duncan in their previous matchup on April 9th, as St. David made off with a 12-2 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Tigers since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
