Ferriday waltzed into their match on Thursday with five straight wins... but they left with six. They snuck past the Marksville Tigers with a 68-62 win. This was payback for the Trojans, who suffered a 59-53 defeat the last time these two teams met.

Devin Lavalais and Dayne Small certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Lavalais went 9 for 14 on his way to 20 points and four steals, while Small almost dropped a double-double on 17 points and nine boards. Elydrick Murray was another key player, putting up eight points and six assists.

Ferriday's victory was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-3. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.8 points per game. As for Marksville, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-4.

Ferriday will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Family Community Christian at 7:00 p.m. on December 30th. As for Marksville, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Marksville Tigers duke it out with the Brusly Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
