It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact the Alice Coyotes can now relate to. They fell 27-14 to the Sandcrabs on Friday. Alice's defeat signaled the end of their nine-game winning streak.
Calhoun's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Alex Parker led the charge by rushing for 50 yards and a touchdown, while also throwing for 106 yards and a touchdown while completing 71.4% of his passes. Darrik Salinas was another key contributor, rushing for 56 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Alice's loss dropped their record down to 10-2. As for Calhoun, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won seven of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-4 record this season.
Alice does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Calhoun will face off against Davenport at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Davenport has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 170 points over their last three contests.
