A Season-Best Effort from Julien Simpson Leads North Mesquite over Molina
On Thursday, North Mesquite had to settle for second even though Julien Simpson put up the best numbers he has all season. Simpson rushed for 177 yards and a touchdown on only ten carries, and also caught a touchdown, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. His longest rush was for an impressive 64 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.
North Mesquite's defeat was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6. Simpson and North Mesquite will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on White at 7:00 p.m. on November 1st.
