Given Walnut Grove's advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 100th, while Centennial is ranked 379th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Walnut Grove to victory, but perhaps none more so than Parker Evanson, who scored 14 points. Jacob Schaack was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Walnut Grove is on a roll lately: they've won 12 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 19-7 record this season. As for Centennial, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 10-14.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Walnut Grove will take on Emerson at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Emerson's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games. As for Centennial, they will be playing at home against Independence at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
