It was a good run, but the Medford Tech Jaguars unfortunately witnessed the end of their six-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of Trenton Catholic Academy by a score of 67-65. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
When it comes to explaining why Medford Tech lost, one person who can't be blamed is Tre Powell. Despite the final result, he scored 29 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Powell is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played. Nesta Rice was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with six rebounds.
Medford Tech's defeat ended a ten-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 15-3. As for Trenton Catholic Academy, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.
Coincidentally, the pair will both be playing Cinnaminson the next time they take the court. Trenton Catholic Academy will head out to face Cinnaminson at 6:30 p.m. on Saturday, while Medford Tech will host them at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
