The Harleton Wildcats will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Big Sandy Wildcats at 6:30 p.m. on February 6th. Neither of those teams managed to put together many points in their previous contests, so the offenses might be a little more motivated than usual.
It's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 50-22, which was the final score in Harleton's tilt against the Hawks on Tuesday. While losing is never fun, Harleton can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 1270th, while the Hawks are ranked 485th).
Meanwhile, Big Sandy took a serious blow against the Lions on Tuesday, falling 42-14. Big Sandy was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 28-4.
Big Sandy's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Reggie Higginbotham, who scored four points along with five blocks, and Abigail Whitfield who scored two points along with six blocks.
Harleton's loss dropped their record down to 5-11. As for Big Sandy, their defeat was their third straight at home, which dropped their record down to 6-26.
Harleton strolled past the Wildcats in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 44-27. The rematch might be a little tougher for Harleton since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
