The Eastside Rams's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They fell to Taylor County 49-44. Eastside found out winning isn't easy when you don't work as a unit and post nine fewer assists than your opponent.
Eastside's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Quashawn Brittingham, who scored 14 points. Brittingham also grabbed two steals for the first time this season. Another player making a difference was Davion Pugh, who scored nine points along with nine rebounds.
It was another big night for Louis Gaddy Jr., who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 15 rebounds for Taylor County. Those 15 rebounds set a new season-high mark for him. Trayce Abercrombie was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Eastside's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Taylor County, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 5-3.
Eastside's road trip will continue as they head out to face Oak Hall at 12:00 p.m. on December 28, 2023. Taylor County won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Wiregrass Ranch at 3:30 p.m. on December 28, 2023. One thing working in Wiregrass Ranch's favor is that they have posted big point totals every time they've taken the court this season.
