Immokalee is 0-7 against Gulf Coast since December of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Immokalee Indians will head out on the road to face off against the Gulf Coast Sharks at 7:00 p.m. Immokalee is hoping to put an end to a ten-game streak of away losses dating back to last season.
Last Monday, Immokalee came up short against Clewiston and fell 33-24.
Gulf Coast has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won seven contests by 20 points or more this season. They were the clear victor by a 56-33 margin over Barron Collier. Gulf Coast's victory was all the more impressive since Barron Collier was averaging only 23.9 points allowed on the season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Gulf Coast to victory, but perhaps none more so than Alex Mcdonough, who scored 16 points along with five steals. That's the first time this season that Mcdonough scored 15 or more points. Kali Cleary was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds.
Immokalee's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Gulf Coast, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Immokalee was dealt a bruising 78-12 defeat at the hands of Gulf Coast in their previous matchup back in November of 2021. Can Immokalee avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
