Mount Anthony proved they can win big on Monday (they won by ten) and on Wednesday they proved they can win the close ones too. They had just enough and edged out the Brattleboro Bears 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Patriots sure are getting used to it with their sixth in a row.
Jacoby Dicranian was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and two RBI.
In other batting news, Jonathan Crossman was excellent, going 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Those two hits gave him a new career-high.
Mount Anthony's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-2-1. The road wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 7.7 runs over those games. As for Brattleboro, their loss dropped their record down to 6-5.
