It may have taken overtime to finish the job, but the Windsor Charter Academy Firebirds ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Liberty Common and snuck past 59-57. The win was just business as usual for Windsor Charter Academy, who after three games remain undefeated this season.
Windsor Charter Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Morgan Kimmi led the charge by almost dropping a triple-double on 10 points, 13 rebounds, and 9 steals. The matchup was Kimmi's third in a row with at least ten points. Sadie Curry was another key contributor, scoring 18 points along with 5 rebounds.
Windsor Charter Academy's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Liberty Common, their loss dropped their record down to 0-1.
Windsor Charter Academy will head out on the road to face off against Skyline at 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Skyline focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Tuesday. Liberty Common will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Jefferson Academy at 12:00 p.m. on December 16th.
