The Libby Loggers will take on the Bigfork Vikings and Valkyries at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. Libby's hitters haven't had much luck over their past four contests, but Saturday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Thursday just wasn't the day for Libby's offense. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 7-0 to Polson, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior.
Meanwhile, Bigfork got the win against Noxon on Tuesday by a conclusive 13-1. The Vikings and Valkyries might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matchups by six runs or more this season.
Mason Lewis and Max Schara made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Lewis tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, Schara tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. What's more, Lewis posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2025. At bat, Lewis went 1-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Schara got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.
In other batting news, Bigfork got a massive performance out of Wyatt Hickey, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double. Those two runs gave Hickey a new career-high. Grady Campbell was another key player, going 1-for-2 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Bigfork always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .567. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Bigfork is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 9-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.5 runs over those games. As for Libby, their loss dropped their record down to 5-10.
Libby suffered a grim 13-3 defeat to Bigfork in their previous meeting back in April. Will the Loggers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
