The Franklin Warriors will be staying on the road on Tuesday to face off against the Linden Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on January 23rd. Both teams come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Franklin scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Saturday. They secured a 78-72 W over Gill St. Bernard's. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Meanwhile, Linden's game on Sunday was all tied up 28-28 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They walked away with a 63-53 win over Newark Collegiate Academy.
Linden relied on the efforts of Elijah Butler, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 12 rebounds, and Nas Robinson, who scored 26 points along with two steals. Butler is absolutely dominating the rebound category: he's posted at least eight every time he's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Jekhi Burnam, who scored five points along with three blocks.
Franklin's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for Linden, their win bumped their record up to 12-4.
Franklin came up short against Linden in their previous meeting back in February of 2023, falling 49-43. Can Franklin avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
