Basha is 0-10 against Hamilton since January of 2019 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Basha Bears will head out on the road to take on the Hamilton Huskies at 7:00 p.m. Basha will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Arizona Rankings (they are ranked 89th, while Hamilton is ranked fourth).
Basha's three-game losing streak came to an end on Monday. They walked away with a 52-45 victory over Corona del Sol. The victory was just what Basha needed coming off of a 88-40 defeat in their prior contest.
Basha relied on the efforts of Grace Beckler, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds, and Audrey O'Connor, who scored 25 points along with two steals. That's the first time this season that O'Connor scored 15 or more points. Rose Bosch was another key contributor, scoring three points.
Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Hamilton's good fortune finally ran out on Wednesday. The matchup between Hamilton and Xavier College Prep wasn't particularly close, with Hamilton falling 57-41. Hamilton has struggled against Xavier College Prep recently, as their match on Wednesday was their fifth consecutive lost matchup.
The victory got Basha back to even at 10-10. As for Hamilton, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 14-5.
Basha was dealt a bruising 67-38 loss at the hands of Hamilton when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Basha avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
