The Saint James Trojans will venture away from home to challenge the Elmore County Panthers at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Elmore County will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Saint James extended their winning streak to three on Thursday. The Trojans put the hurt on Trinity Presbyterian with a sharp 14-1 victory.
Emily Needham made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out 11 over six innings pitched. Needham was also big at the plate, going 4-for-5 with five RBI and two doubles. That's the most doubles she has posted since back in March.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Tatiana Shuford, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and three RBI. She has been hot recently, having posted three or more RBI the last three times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Johnston, who scored three runs and stole a base while going 2-for-4.
Saint James was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .486. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .367 or higher in six consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Elmore County was not the first on the board last Thursday, but they got there more often. Everything went their way against Beauregard as they made off with a 13-3 win. Winning may never get old, but the Panthers sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.
Addy Peaden was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and three runs. Another player making a difference was Addison Hicks, who scored a run and stole two bases while going 3-for-4.
Elmore County's victory was their sixth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-10. The home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.5 runs over those games. As for Saint James, their record is now 34-6.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Saint James has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .442. However, it's not like Elmore County struggles in that department as they've averaged .455. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Saint James' way against Elmore County in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Saint James made off with a 12-1 victory. Do the Trojans have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Panthers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
