Osmond (1-4) and Elkhorn Valley (0-5) take on one another this Friday on Osmond's home turf. Elkhorn Valley's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Osmond defense that got seven sacks against Stuart in its previous game.
Osmond brought the heat last game after its low-scoring effort (eight points) in the match before. It was able to grind out a solid victory over Stuart last week, winning 32 - 22. Osmond had two big standouts, as senior Colton Beacom earned one touchdown and 119 yards rushing the ball, while junior Anthony Heiman ran for 58 yards and also punched in three touchdowns.
As for Elkhorn Valley, last week it came up short against St. Mary's, falling 46 - 36. No one was more disappointed by the loss than junior Josh McFarland, who put up a significant resistance with four TDs. McFarland has now scored at least one TD in the past three consecutive games.
The last time they met, Osmond really took it to Elkhorn Valley, winning 53 - 0. Osmond was able to move the ball a lot more (325 yards compared to 33 yards), a gap Elkhorn Valley will be looking to close this time around. Can Osmond repeat its success? We'll find out this Friday.
