HAGERMAN, N.M. - Special teams carried
Hagerman (N.M.) to a 60-6 victory over Jal (N.M.) on Saturday as the return units contributed two touchdowns. The special teams of the Bobcats scored on two punt returns.
After taking the lead on a touchdown pass by
Alejandro Ramos to
Jessie Rodriguez in the first quarter, Hagerman was up 35-0 at the half.
HHS grew its lead to 42 points entering the fourth quarter. The Bobcats scored two times in the third, including once on a touchdown run by
Isaiah Bejarano.
Hagerman's Ramos scored two touchdowns on the ground in the victory.
Jal's lone touchdown came on a run in the third quarter.
The Panthers came in giving up 17.9 points per game this season. Jal had a hard time against Hagerman's offense, which entered the game scoring 33.5 points per game. HHS had given up an average of 4.8 points prior to the contest.
When the two teams played each other last season, the Bobcats came away with a 47-0 victory.
The loss snapped Jal's two-game winning streak.
