Gatewood extended their postseason success on Friday against Briarwood Academy. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past the Buccaneers 15-12. The victory was nothing new for Gatewood as they're now sitting on four straight.
Meanwhile, Edmund Burke Academy stacked a eighth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They breezed by Southwest Georgia Academy at home to the tune of 35-6. 35 seems to be a good number for Edmund Burke Academy as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.
Mobley continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 112 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 90 yards and a touchdown while completing 77.8% of his passes.
Gatewood has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 10-2 record this season. As for Edmund Burke Academy, they have yet to lose a matchup at home this season, leaving them with a 11-1 record.
Gatewood came up short against Edmund Burke Academy in their previous matchup back in October, falling 20-14. Can Gatewood avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
