Centerville got themselves on the board against Hanson Memorial on Friday, but Hanson Memorial never followed suit. Centerville was fully in charge, breezing past the Tigers 50-0. With the Bulldogs ahead 36 to nothing at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Tyler Gunner went supernova for Centerville as he rushed for 305 yards and five TDs on 13 carries. Gunner's performance made up for a slower game against Vermilion Catholic last week. Gunner scored six touchdowns overall-- his season high. Additional support came from defensive powerhouse Morty Frederick, who racked up ten tackles.
Centerville will square off against Highland Baptist Christian at 7 p.m. ET next week. Both of those teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games. As for Hanson Memorial, they will go up against Covenant Christian Academy at 7 p.m. ET. Both of these teams will be looking for a pick-me-up after considerable defeats in their previous games.
