The David Crockett Pioneers will challenge the Morristown-Hamblen East Hurricanes at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
David Crockett barely beat Tennessee the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Pioneers put the hurt on the Vikings with a sharp 13-2 win on Thursday. The game was the first time the Pioneers have beaten the Vikings on their field since April 15, 2021.

Madelyn Dulaney spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned runs on four hits and racked up eight Ks. She has been consistent : she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
At the plate, David Crockett got a big performance out of Brylee Tullock, who went 1-for-4 with one home run. Lexi Hawkins was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.
David Crockett always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .538. The last time their OBP was this high was back in March.
Meanwhile, Morristown-Hamblen East entered their tilt with Sevier County on Thursday with three consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with four. They were the clear victors by a 13-3 margin over the Smoky Bears. The Hurricanes' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Ella Wampler made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and one unearned) runs off four hits (and only one walk). Wampler was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with one home run and two runs.
In other batting news, Morristown-Hamblen East let Jaycee Hamilton and Harmony Sullivan run wild. Hamilton went 3-for-4 with three runs, four RBI, and two doubles, while Sullivan scored three runs and stole a base while going 4-for-4. Those four RBI gave Hamilton a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Combs, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.
David Crockett has been performing well recently as they've won ten of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-3-1 record this season. The victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 6.7 runs over those games. As for Morristown-Hamblen East, they pushed their record up to 6-5-1 with the win, which was their third straight at home.
David Crockett was able to grind out a solid victory over Morristown-Hamblen East in their previous matchup back in March, winning 9-4. Do the Pioneers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Hurricanes turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
