The Cactus Shadows Falcons's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Wednesday after their third straight loss. They took a 61-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of Cienega. Cactus Shadows was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Cienega apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in November of 2022.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cienega to victory, but perhaps none more so than Taylor Hitchcock, who scored 19 points along with 3 steals. That makes it six consecutive games in which Hitchcock has scored at least 25% of Cienega's points. Another player making a difference was Mia Kelley, who scored 14 points along with 9 assists and 4 steals.
Cactus Shadows' defeat dropped their record down to 0-3. As for Cienega, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 4-3 record this season.
Cactus Shadows will head out on the road to face off against Verrado at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Cienega won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Sunnyside at 7:00 p.m. on November 30th. Hopefully Sunnyside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up six on Tuesday.
